Karla is an experienced crew supervisor with strong horticulture and plant knowledge gained in the field and in a nursery setting. She has a strong passion for the environment, holistic health, and herbal medicine. Karla holds a certificate from the UMass Extension’s Green School. In 2014 she became an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional through the Northeast Organic Farming Association’s Organic Land Care Program. In her hometown, she is Vice President of the Rutland Land Conservancy and serves on the Open Space and Recreation Committee. Karla is also a member of the non-profit organization, Herbal Community of Central MA (HCOCM) where she serves as secretary and librarian.
Prior to delving into the world of horticulture, she studied theater arts and film and received a B.A. from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California.
